2005 "i baci" Chardonnay

Fresh and elegantTasting Notes:
The fruit characteristics displayed consist of intricate granny-smith apples, pears, melon, banana, plus a touch of perfume and almond that follow through on the light to medium bodied palate.  The light lees contact is evident by the wispy “bready”, soft yeasty and toasted qualities that are displayed on both the nose and the palate which provide additional depth to the wine.  The acidity is balanced as the wine is elegant and gentle yet rich.  An intricate, complex, long finish with lovely floral qualities complete the wine.  Great dry white that can be served with hors d’oeuvres, seafood dishes, poultry and white pasta sauces.

Harvest Data:
Wines from around the world were sourced to produce the “i baci” brand produced by Pillitteri Estates Winery.  After a thorough tasting exercise looking for light, racy white wines with elegance, we purchased Chardonnay from Italy.  Just prior to bottling, the wine was slightly sweetened yet still retained sugar code “0” yet it added softness.  Best suited for immediate consumption and will not improve with age as the flavours are light and fresh.
