PILLITTERI ESTATES RECEIVES HIGHEST LEVEL
OF HACCP CERTIFICATION
First Canadian-owned winery in Ontario to achieve Advantage
HACCP Plus food safety certification
Niagara on the Lake- Pillitteri Estates Winery, a producer of premium VQA (Vintner Quality Alliance) wines, has become the first Ontario winery to achieve the rigorous Advantage Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Plus certification from the Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB).
HACCP is a system of quality control for food safety that addresses physical, chemical and biological threats as a means of prevention. A HACCP program identifies potential food risks of an operation (known as critical points) and provides a means of monitoring, tracking and handling those areas. HACCP was initially developed by NASA and has been adopted as one of the best food-safety systems applied worldwide.
Pillitteri’s Advantage HACCP Plus certification is the highest level of HACCP attainable, requiring additional systems for bio-security and traceability. This certification ensures customers and partners that ......Click here to read the entire press release

PILLITTERI ESTATES CAPTURES SECOND STRAIGHT WIN AT “SYRAH DU MONDES” WINE COMPETITION
Ampius, France/Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada- For a second year in a row, Pillitteri Estates Shiraz Icewine has been named one of the “Top Ten Syrahs” in the world at the “Syrah du Monde” wine competition, held in Ampuis France May 15-16, 2008.
Pillitteri Estates Winery won a Gold Medal for its 2006 Shiraz Icewine and last year also won gold for the 2004. This year’s win was made even sweeter as the Shiraz ranked high among the “Top Ten” in the world by scoring the top 2nd best mark of all 384 samples provided. Pillitteri’s Winemaster Dr. Marc Bradshaw comments “Receiving this accolade for my 2006 Shiraz Icewine is absolutely brilliant and totally unexpected, especially for a wine I made in my first vintage as Winemaster at Pillitteri Estates.”
