Pillitteri International Wine Agency is the latest venture of Pillitteri Estates Winery. As the world's largest estate producer of Icewine exporting to over 30 countries worldwide, Pillitteri has 20 years of proven success in the wine industry. Our goal in this latest venture is to impart the knowledge and strategies we have developed to assist our international winery contacts in entering the unique Ontario liquor sales market. Our experience working with the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) has given us a unique advantage as an agency in understanding what is involved from a supplier's perspective to be successful in selling to the LCBO.
International wines represent approximately 65% of all wine consumed in Ontario.
- LCBO Annual Report 2009-10
In 2010-11, the LCBO purchased products from 77 countries world wide.
- LCBO Media Centre Quick Facts
As one of the largest purchasers of alcoholic beverages in the world, the LCBO is highly sought after as the world's largest single consumer distribution outlet. In the last year, LCBO outlets have handled over 121 million transactions, with a 50.8% share of the $9.7 billion alcoholic beverage market in Ontario. Any organization wishing to legally sell alcohol beverages in this market must have an agent appointed within Ontario to represent their interest. Pillitteri International Wine Agency works with international wineries to attain product listings in the LCBO, then fosters that relationship by executing promotional strategies, and extending to the licensee market. This hands-on approach, coupled with years of experience gives Pillitteri International Wine Agency a distinct advantage when representing international wine brands.
"Pillitteri's latest endeavour has us looking internationally, sourcing quality wine and spirits from abroad to offer our customers locally. With almost 20 years of experience with the LCBO, Pillitteri is working to share our gained knowledge with international partners while enhancing our portfolio of product offerings to our customers."
