Head Winemaker Position Available!
Head Winemaker in charge of 60,000 case grape wine production facility. Take delivery, process and prepare grapes for fermentation. Monitoring, complete lab analysis for sugar, acidity, PH, malolactic fermentation, sulphur dioxide & ascorbic acid etc. Calculate & perform additions to fermenting wine juices, direct or perform bottling, clarification, filtration, labelling and packing of finished wines. Plan, schedule, monitor cellar operations. Manage inventory, bottling runs, source & negotiate with suppliers. Liaise with other winery departments. Operate all processing machinery. Manage a Canadian certified HACCP program ensuring programs are updated, followed, documented and certification is maintained.
Formal wine education equivalent to BSC in Wine Making preferred. Annual Salary $85,000. Applicant must have cold and hot climate winemaking experience with minimum 2 years at 60,000 cases, work shifts for extended periods of time outside in cold weather conditions for Icewine.
