The 2008 Cabernet Sparkling Icewine received the accolades and was the only North American wine recognized in the top ten. This is the first competition entered for the yet to be released 2008 Sparkling Cabernet Icewine. Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario– Pillitteri Estates Winery came out big in Bordeaux France, where they were awarded two Gold Medals and one Silver medal at Citadelles du Vin where many of the best wines compete head to head at the most prestigious wine and spirits exhibition in the world, Vinexpo. Pillitteri received Gold for the 2007 Riesling Icewine and the 2007 Vidal Icewine, with the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Icewine winning Silver. This was a tremendous accomplishment for the winery as only three Canadian wineries received Gold recognition. With charitable environmentally friendly reusable wine bags
Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON- Pillitteri Estates Winery is launching their first environmentally friendly wine bag that will be introduced for a fundraising campaign for Red Roof Retreat. The Niagara-on-the-Lake winery has organized several events in the past, including a very successful annual comedy show, for the local non-profit organization. This year Pillitteri has decided to help their cause by donating proceeds from the sales of their newly created environmentally friendly wine bag.
