Pillitteri first began exporting in Asia in 1995 with an initial order to Taiwan. This was the wineries first attempt to export. Since then Asia has been Pillitteri’s largest export region and has expanded into the market in 10 different countries or territories. Asia presents unique challenges with shipping and logistics, so in 2013 Pillitteri established a permanent office and warehouse in mainland China to assist in distribution. Today Asia remains the largest export region for the winery. Icewine is well suited to pair well with traditional Asian foods and has become a popular premium wine in the market. We are continuing to build awareness of Canadian Icewine but Canadian table wine is also emerging as a desirable product, a trend we to continue to promote.
